There's a good chance that if you're planning on visiting San Diego that the beaches are already on your agenda. I hate to have to break the news to you...but there is more to San Diego than "just" the beaches. Here is sunny San Diego you can have it all. I don't like to repeat myself, but with the near perfect weather year-round, you are free to roam around pretty much anywhere you like...and have a great experience. Taking into consideration that you'll only be here for a limited amount of time, it's best that I outline the most favorable and attractive spots to visit...although you can't go wrong with most areas in San Diego. In this San Diego Guide you'll find what I believe are the best spots around town you just "have-to visit" during your stay in San Diego. Add these to your itinerary because there are so many cool things for you and the family to enjoy!
Visit The City:With a newly renovated San Diego Downtown District, you just can't go wrong with visiting the Gaslamp Quarter and the Embarcadero. Don't miss out on all the excitement going on in the East Village with the newly built PETCO Park - The Padres new home. Also, not too far away you will find Balboa Park, the nations largest urban cultural park. Not too far away you will find Mission Valley, La Jolla, and the beautiful marinas of Harbor and Shelter Island. If you're looking to add a vibrant city vibe and beat to your San Diego visit...then you're sure to love the San Diego city life!
Visit The North and South Coast:You just can't go wrong visiting the North and South Coast of San Diego! The 70 miles of sun, surf, and sand make for a great vacation. From Imperial Beach in the South Bay all the way up North in Oceanside...you're sure to find something fun for the whole family. If it's a laid back environment you're looking for...then head over to Encinitas. Del Mar and La Jolla spell elegance and sophistication...and if this is something you "must" have, then Del Mar and La Jolla will surely quench your need for upscale and high net worth living.
Visit The Inland and East:If diversity is something you're looking for...you're sure to find it Inland and in East San Diego. If hiking and mountain bike riding is you're thing, then you'll find plenty to do Inland and East San Diego. You can also take a wine tour at many award winning wineries, tour the historic mining town of Julian, or learn more about our massive universe at the Palomar Observatory. If you enjoy the thrill of gambling you're money away (I sure don't)...then you can also choose from one of many San Diego's Vegas like casinos. If the outdoors is what you thrive on...then don't miss out on San Diego's many State Parks.
Personally, I haven't been to all of these places...but I am working myself down the list. From the many great things I've heard from others, that is why I have considered them, and decided to add them to the San Diego Guide. The reason I bring this up is because I am extremely interested in hearing about your personal experiences in and around San Diego. If you have a great story or know of a hot spot, please contact us so we may add it as a recommended place to visit.
